Oprah Winfrey and Stedman Graham have been living happily-ever-after for more than three decades, but the couple has never exchanged vows. Now, the talk show legend is opening up about her reasons for choosing not to tie the knot with the man she loves.
“His interpretation of what it means to be a husband and what it would mean for me to be a wife would have been pretty traditional, and I would not have been able to fit into that,” Winfrey, 63, told Vogue. “We would not have stayed together, because marriage requires a different way of being in this world.”
Winfrey says she chooses to live life on her own terms, rather than the way others expect her to live.
