Actor Alan Thicke, best known for his work on Growing Pains, died suddenly while playing hockey on December 13. He was 69.
Witnesses say Thicke began having chest pains while on the ice rink with teenage son Carter. He was immediately transported to Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center in LA, where he later died from a massive heart attack.
Thicke is survived by his wife and three sons, one of which is Grammy-nominated recording artist Robin Thicke. The Blurred Lines singer had this to say about his father’s death:
“He was the best man I ever knew. The best friend I ever had…”
