MTV has announced the nominees for the 2016 Video Music Awards, and the network has neglected to recognize Taylor Swift.
The snub comes as a surprise to many, as Swift lead the pack of nominees in 2015 with ten nominations. She is also a six-time VMA winner. Swift released three new music videos over the past year for her songs “Wildest Dreams,” “Out of the Woods” and “New Romantics.” All three are from her most recent album, 1989.
Beyoncé leads all 2016 nominations, with a personal best of eleven for her Lemonade videos. Adele comes in at a close second with eight nods.
