Kenny Chesney’s July 2 concert in Pittsburgh was full of drama – though mostly off-stage.
The country rocker’s show attracted an estimated 15,000 people, and left more than fifty fans hospitalized afterward. Authorities say the majority were for intoxication and alcohol-related injuries.
The city’s public safety spokesperson, Sonya Toler, said that five people were also arrested. Charges included trespassing, ticket robbery, assault and public intoxication. More than thirty people were also cited for underage drinking at Heinz Field Stadium.
The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reported that concert-goers also left behind a “reeking, hulking mass of garbage,” which city sanitation workers are diligently working to remove.
