Beyoncé Wins Eight More Moonmen, Smashes Madonna’s VMA Record

It was a record-breaking night for Queen Bey, as she took home eight more MTV Video Music Awards on August 28. The wins brought Beyoncé’s total to 25 career VMA victories, smashing the previous record of 20 held by Madonna.

Beyoncé, 34, took home six of her eight new Moonmen for her song “Formation.” The controversial tune garnered wins for Best Pop Video, Best Direction, Best Choreography, Best Editing and Best Cinematography. “Formation” also won the sought-after Video of the Year credit.

The songstress also won Best Female Video for “Hold Up” and Best Long Form Video for “Beyoncé: Lemonade.”
