Adam Levine took to The Voice stage on the April 25 episode to pay special tribute to singing sensation Christina Grimmie, who was tragically killed by a gunman last June. She was 22.
“God, I loved her so much,” Levine said, addressing Grimmie’s family in the audience. “I miss her. It is unfair she is not here. We are going to sing a little song. I am going to be singing every word to her in her honor. Thank you for being here. Christina, we love you.”
The emotional rendition of “Hey Jude” was part of an announcement of the creation of the Christina Grimmie Foundation, which will benefit individuals and families impacted by gun violence.
