Nashville transplant Taylor Swift sure loves New York City, and she’s made that point very clear with her new song “Welcome to New York,” as well as with her role as the city’s tourism ambassador.
So when a slew of locals began turning up their noses at Swift’s adoption of their beloved city as her own, New York legend Billy Joel stepped in to defend the pop princess.
“You snoots. Let her in,” Joel told USA Today. “That’s what New York is all about. I say, ‘Welcome.'”
