Sources close to Matt Lauer and wife Annette Roque say that the former Dutch model always had concerns her husband would cheat, even before they got married 19 years ago.
“He was a player when she met him and she knew that,” one source says. “Even many years ago, he was a flirt, a philanderer. He did his thing.”
Lauer recently appeared without his wedding ring, amid ongoing allegations about his possible harassment and sexual misconduct while employed at NBC. Another source says he and Roque are still living under one roof with their three children, but taking things day by day.
