Shannen Doherty shared a series of six Instagram photos capturing her July 20 decision to shave her head. Doherty, 45, has been battling breast cancer since 2015 and decided to enlist the help of her mother and a close friend to make the drastic change in her appearance.
In February, Doherty shared her health concerns on The Dr. Oz Show, and discussed her willingness to do whatever it takes to beat her disease.
“Ultimately, they’re just breasts, right?” Doherty said. “I mean, I love them, they’re mine, they’re beautiful, but in the grand scheme of things, I would rather be alive, and I would rather grow old with my husband.”
The 90210 alum’s treatment is ongoing.
