Prince Harry and girlfriend Meghan Markle recently spent three weeks vacationing in Botswana, and a royal insider says the trip ended with a marriage proposal. Harry, 32, reportedly planned the trip and the proposal to coincide with Markle’s 36th birthday.
“[He] “had diamonds taken from a brooch he inherited from Diana,” the source says, adding that Harry chose to propose in August in order to have something “joyful” to mark the month instead of the shadow of his late mother’s death.
Still, don’t expect a royal announcement just yet.
“Harry said he would want to enjoy the news between the two of them before word starts spreading out,” the source explains.
