Matt Damon is publicly asking for support as his father, Kent, continues his lengthy battle with cancer.
Damon, 47, first discussed his dad’s condition in 2011 when he revealed he was suffering from the rare blood disease multiple myeloma. Though the elder Damon was in remission for a time, the cancer is incurable and is now progressing.
“It’s been a slow unfolding, my dad’s sick, so that’s been a process we’re going through,” the actor told Extra recently. “We’ll take any prayers you got, so throw ’em up there.”
The Downsizing star has canceled several appearances recently to be by his father’s side.
