Kim Kardashian was relatively unknown until 2007, when her sex tape with Ray J was leaked by Vivid Entertainment. Now, in a controversial new book, Hollywood tell-all author Ian Halperin says it was Kris Jenner who orchestrated the leak as a publicity stunt.
In Kardashian Dynasty, Halperin cites sources inside the porn industry who say Jenner and her now-famous daughter were in cahoots to jump-start Kardashian’s career. When a friend in the entertainment industry suggested a sex tape might help Kardashian achieve fame, Halperin says the mother-daughter duo jumped at the chance.
Kardashian’s rep has responded that “all assertions are false.”
