Angelina Jolie has filed for divorce from Brad Pitt after two years of marriage. The couple began dating in 2005 and share six children together.
“This has been coming for some time,” a Jolie source says of the shocking news. “This is a very difficult period for the family. But [Angie] feels like a weight has been lifted…She knows it was the right thing.”
This was the third marriage for Jolie, who previously wed Jonny Lee Miller and Billy Bob Thornton. Pitt was previously married to Jennifer Aniston. Jolie’s divorce paperwork indicates she will seek physical custody of the Jolie-Pitt children.
