Fans of The Bachelor will be in for some awkward moments when ABC’s popular reality franchise premieres on January 2.
In a newly-released clip of the first show, Nick Viall is seen refusing an offer of alone time with contestant Jasmine, 29. Jasmine approaches Viall while he’s speaking to another woman, asking to steal him away for just a few seconds of alone time.
“She actually asked first,” Viall says awkwardly. When pressed by Jasmine, he reiterates that he wants to be respectful to the woman he’s currently speaking with. Jasmine leaves in tears, later lamenting her disappointment in an on-camera confessional.
