Sources inside Live! With Kelly and Michael say Kelly Ripa is still bitter over being blindsided by cohost Michael Strahan’s upcoming departure, and she is considering leaving the show if she doesn’t get to choose her next cohost.
Insiders say Ripa “hopes Anderson Cooper or Andy Cohen gets the job,” though producers are first considering actor Jerry O’Connell. If neither is available or interested, the 15-year Live! veteran may leave the show.
“Unless one of them can come on, [Kelly] doesn’t really want to do it.”
Ripa returned to the hosting chair alongside Strahan yesterday and reported that “apologies have been made” and she is happy for Strahan.
