Laurie Hernandez’s 2016 was certainly one for the books, and now the Olympic Gold medalist and Dancing With the Stars winner has chronicled her experiences in a new memoir.
The book, I Got This: To Gold and Beyond, follows the homeschooled teen’s early years training in gymnastics and elaborates on challenges she faced before making it to the 2016 Rio Olympics.
“I put my heart into it,” Hernandez says of her memoir. “I think when people read the book they’ll see that all the accomplishments I’ve done, they weren’t just given to me. I had to really work hard for them. I want to really inspire people to see that good things happen to those who work for them.”
