Sources are reporting that Usher paid a woman more than a million dollars to settle a lawsuit in which she alleged he infected her with the herpes virus.
The woman, a celebrity stylist, contracted the disease after having unprotected sex with singer on multiple occasions. She alleged that he “consciously and purposefully” withheld his diagnosis of the sexually transmitted disease, which happened in 2009. The woman further alleged that Usher lied, telling her he had tested negative for the virus.
Court documents show the singer paid the woman’s medical bills in 2012, and eventually settled the lawsuit by paying her $1.1 million for emotional distress.
