Meryl Streep is standing up for the rights of women everywhere.
Earlier this week, the Associate Press revealed that the actress has been writing letters to each individual member of congress, asking for their support in reviving the now-defunct Equal Rights Amendment and adding it to the U.S. Constitution.
“A whole new generation of women and girls are talking about equality – equal pay, equal protection from sexual assault, equal rights,” Streep wrote. “I am writing to ask you to stand up for equality – for your mother, your daughter, your sister, your wife, or yourself – by actively supporting the Equal Rights Amendment.”
