Just like any first-time mom, Jennifer Carpenter feels like she has a lot to learn, especially when it comes to balancing work and family.
“He’s the teacher, I’m the student,” she says of son Isaac, 2, whom she shares with musician husband Seth Avett. “It’s so easy to feel guilt as a new mom. I was away for 10 days [working] and I was just packing it on.”
Despite its challenges, though, the Dexter alum wouldn’t change a thing.
“I’m with the right man. I have an incredible son. Every fraction of myself is totally invested, you know, and I’m satisfied. Everything’s aligned,” she explains. “This is my best life!”
