During an appearance on Any Given Wednesday, Ben Affleck opened up about the dark times he faced in his career at the time he and Jennifer Lopez called off their engagement.
“I had broken up with Jennifer Lopez and I had like three or four movies in a row that had bombed,” Affleck explained. “I was like the lowest rung of cool and talented that you could possibly be in the public consciousness at that time.”
Affleck went on to say that he decided to turn his career around by focusing his energy on directing.
“[It] became my mantra — I’m just going to work harder than everybody else,” he said.
