Miranda Lambert has opened up a no-kill animal shelter in her hometown of Tishomingo, Oklahoma.
With the help of her non-profit foundation MuttNation, Lambert has taken over and refurbished a one-time kill shelter into a safe haven for dogs to live and play while they wait for their forever homes.
“I just know that she loves animals,” MuttNation Foundation director of operations Gina Gardner told Tulsa World of Lambert. “I worked with her for several months and I’ve been elbow to elbow with her on dog rescues, on spay-and-neuter clinics, out here working on the ranch. It’s the real deal. She cares about the plight of homeless animals. It’s her cause.”
