Lily Collins’ new movie To the Bone follows the struggles of a woman being treated for anorexia. For the young actress, the role hit close to home.
“This was definitely a more dramatic role for me. I suffered with eating disorders when I was a teenager as well,” Collins, 27, told reporters at the January 22 Sundance Film Festival, adding that the film required her to “emotionally revisit” her past.
In a later message to fans on Instagram, Collins noted her gratitude for the outpouring of support she has received.
“Thank you for all your love and support. I’m sending all of mine right back (especially today!) and remember, you are never ever alone…”
