She may be one of the most recognizable faces in the world of gymnastics, but Gabby Douglas is longing for a life outside the spotlight.
The American gymnast, 20, has won gold medals in back-to-back Olympic Games, but she has faced increasingly nasty internet bullying during the Rio Games.
“It’s been kind of a lot to deal with,” Douglas says of the malicious comments. “I tried to stay off the internet because there’s just so much negativity,” she said. “Either it was about my hair or my hand not over my heart or I look depressed…”
“It’s hurtful,” she admits. “Hurtful.”
