Thandie Newton Speaks Out About Past Sexual Abuse By A Director

In a new interview with W magazine, Thandie Newton opens up about an incident in which a director sexually abused her early on in her career.

“A director, on a callback, had a camera shooting up my skirt and asked me to touch my t–ts and think about the guy making love to me in the scene,” she recounted in the interview. The Pursuit of Happyness actress, 43, would later learn that the director was showing the video to others in the entertainment industry.

“I was so so naïve when I started out,” she says.

Newton has not named her abuser.
