When 19-year-old Disney star Zendaya took the stage Sunday to accept the Kids’ Choice Award for Favorite Female TV Star – Kids’ Show, she had glowing praise for her fans. “I do it for you guys,” she said, addressing her supporters in the audience. Zendaya went on to thank the parents who allow her to be a “role model” for their children.
This last remark caused ire from Difficult People star Julie Klausner, 37, who attacked Zendaya on Twitter. Klausner accused Zendaya of starving herself and having an eating disorder.
Though Zendaya chose to ignore Klausner’s comments, her fans lit up Twitter in her defense, causing Klausner to continue her rant.
“I will never stop criticizing celebs who perpetuate dangerous beauty standards for a generation of girls who grow up thinking they’re fat,” she tweeted.
