Selena Gomez revealed to Us Weekly on Tuesday that, when it comes to her roles, she wants to have to work for them.
“Honestly, the reason why I take certain parts is not because I feel like I could just accept it,” she told the mag. “I want to be the person who earns it. I’ve auditioned for every movie I’ve been a part of, and I’ve wanted to genuinely feel like I earned it.”
Most recently Gomez accepted a role in the movie Rudderless, which hits theaters next Friday.
