After receiving a flurry of critical comments for her dress choice at the May 7 MTV Movie and TV Awards, Chrissy Metz took to Instagram to thank the supporters who came to her defense.
“Remember that time folks got rowdy because I wore a dress?” Metz wrote in the May 11 post. “The outpouring of love and support from all of you lovely people has not gone unnoticed. I hope that in some small way an unconventional body wearing an unconventional material opened up discussion, hearts and minds.”
Critics took shots at Metz for wearing a red latex dress. The This Is Us actress said she just wanted to try “something different” on the red carpet.
