A recent trailer for the upcoming Disney/Pixar film Finding Dory ignited speculation after briefly showing two women attending to a baby together. Ellen DeGeneres, who voices Dory in the film, addressed the rumors of the inclusion of a same-sex couple in the Finding Nemo sequel.
“I personally think it’s a great thing,” DeGeneres told the press. “I think everything that we see in the media – whether it’s television or film or anything you see – should represent everything that’s happening in the world.”
DeGeneres pointed out that she cannot confirm whether the movie truly features a same-sex couple, but she believes it’s an apt conversation regardless.
