Johnny Depp’s impending divorce from Amber Heard continues to make headlines, as the actress first filed divorce papers and then accused Depp of domestic violence. Now, friends of Depp, 52, are coming forward in his defense.
Comedian Doug Stanhope, a longtime friend of Depp, published a May 29 op-ed for the Wrap, defending his friend and lamenting Heard’s actions.
“Abusing women is bulls‑‑t,” Stanhope wrote. “Johnny doesn’t abuse anyone. [He] got used, manipulated, set up and made to look like an a‑‑hole. And he saw it coming and didn’t or couldn’t do anything to stop it.”
