Queen Bey kicked off her much-anticipated Formation World Tour in Miami on April 27, and she took the opportunity to pay tribute to Prince during the show.
While Beyonce was backstage for a costume change, the iconic song “Purple Rain” played while the screen turned purple and fans in Marlins Park lit the cell phone lights in memoriam.
Beyonce, who performed with Prince at the 2004 Grammy Awards, also noted his passing when she returned to the stage. “Prince, thank you for your beautiful music,” she said.
